Our standard wood is a select veneer with MDF-core, chosen for it’s resistance to warping. If you will be painting the panels, MDF is most economical and Unfinished Maple provides a bit more strength. For staining a light color Unfinished Maple is best. If staining a medium or dark color, Unfinished Walnut or Alder work best. Please call for availability of other materials.

There are many considerations regarding thickness so please let us know if you'd like a recommendation for your project. As an example, 1/4" would work for anything being mounted to another surface, in windows less than 3 feet wide, and smaller cabinetry panels. A thickness of 3/4" is most appropriate for room dividers and any large size (over 3 feet wide) panels that will be double-sided. Half-inch thickness works in many situations where panels will be framed in and are under 2-3 feet wide. Pattern choice also affects strength and thickness choice. Standard thickness materials are generally available at our standard lead time, custom thickness time varies.

Standard maximum size is 48” x 96”. Select wood is available in up to 60” x 114” size with extra fee.
There will be a $100 set-up fee for each panel size, artwork, or anything that is not an exact duplicate of another panel, including different size borders.

Please indicate in the table below your pattern choice from our Library of Patterns on our website. The renderings illustrate the pattern at our standard scale of 23” x 23” size. Please let us know if you’d like a different scale. Scaling down MAY incur additional cost for the extra laser-cutting time. If you have multiple panels which will line up next to each other, and you want the pattern to flow across panels, let us know. This also may incur extra cost depending on the pattern. Some patterns can simply by repeated, others will need an additional set-up fee.

If you’d like a custom pattern or artwork, we can work with your idea, sketch, or digital file. We will need to discuss your vision and see your files in order to provide pricing. Any shape of panels is possible, such as an arched top, and most will require additional art time.

We can make the border any size (or combination of different sizes for top, bottom, sides, etc.)

How will panels be used?

For Example: Room Divider, Cabinetry panel, Wall-mounted, Window covering, Ceiling panel, Backlit, Outdoor
Will it be single or double-sided? (double if it will be viewed from both sides)?

Wood grain runs length-wise on a 4’ x 8’ sheet. If the longest panel dimension is under 48”, grain can go either vertical or horizontal. Let us know which direction you prefer.

We are happy to have your panels custom stained or painted. Please call for more info.

If you would like your panels to be wall-mounted and backlit, please call to discuss.
